BORE / IDENTIFICATION: Measured 3.24 in. Factory 1000cc Ironhead bore is about 3.188 in. A nominal +.050 bore is approximately 3.238 in, so 3.24 is consistent with roughly +.050 oversize.
FITMENT NOTES: The bore measurement conflicts with the earlier 1957-1971 900cc identification in the original note. A 3.24-inch bore is consistent with a 1000cc Ironhead cylinder at roughly .050 over standard, so the safer listing is 1000cc / 1972-1985 pending confirmation of the complete casting and rear-cylinder features.
