The back of the tank is stretched 2 inch and does not affect the mounts. Tank shows a welded seam for rear stretch extension. It is suggested to pressure test and use a tank sealer. We suggest using Kreem gas tank combo kit to clean  condition  and seal to help stop leaks and prevent corrosion. Factory sample cover are brand new pre-production parts but have imperfections in the finished surface. Check threaded and bearing holes for excess plating before installation. There are no physical defects  such as cracks or holes  there will be cosmetic imperfections only.
